With the NPL (National Physical Laboratory) Dimensional Metrology deliverers certificate at the core of our training, we can provide companies with software, instrument hardware and theory of dimensional measurement training, onsite or within our facility, here in the midlands.
This can be tailored to your needs and encompass application specific tuition, or be based around a standard set of training notes.
The really excellent NPL dimensional level 1 training course, can also be provided by us (This is booked directly with the NPL - you just specify your preferred provider).
The NPL-Training for Dimensional Metrology is divided into four levels, covering measurement users, to measurement strategy definers, always through a practical hands-on approach.
NPL Training, Dimensional Level 1 comprises:-
Level 1 provides the underpinning knowledge and expertise for anyone who uses dimensional measurement tools or requires an appreciation of the importance of measurement. This level is relevant to all industrial sectors and can be stand-alone or completed as the building block for further levels.
Following Level 1 you will have an understanding of principal dimensional measurement methods and techniques, and basic measurement equipment will be used correctly and with confidence.
Level 1 Modules:
Geometric Product Specification A:
What are geometric product specification (GPS), drawing practices and tolerance?
Measurement Methods and Principles A:
Successful measurements and use of rules, micrometers and callipers, including the appropriate use of SI units.
Measurement Methods and Principles B:
Correct use of height gauges, dial test indicators, and dial gauges, as well as the environmental effects on measurements.
Fundamental Measurement Calculations:
Triangles, powers and scientific notification.
Each level is divided into training modules that can be taken individually or joined together to complete an entire level. The training is delivered by experts in measurement and can be undertaken on a company site or at convenient regional locations.
The training offers practical, application-based courses supported by workshops and seminars designed to improve skills and competencies in measurement and related areas. The modular framework enables the training to be completed alongside existing work commitments.
